Micro-X was founded in 2011 in Victoria by current Managing Director, Peter Rowland, to commercialise the miniaturisation benefits of CNT x-ray tubes in mobile radiography. The CNT technology partnership with XinRay Systems was begun in 2013 and an exclusive Heads-of-Agreement was signed with Carestream Health Inc of Rochester, New York, in respect of development collaboration and global distribution of the first mobile medical x-ray product in 2014. Richard Hannebery joined as a Director in 2014 and arranged Series A and B funding tranches of $13M which allowed full-scale engineering development of the x-ray product to commence early in that year. Micro-X Pty Ltd became a public company, Micro-X Ltd, in October 2015 and Lodge Partners led a $20M IPO on the ASX in December of that year.
