Activ Surgical will use the funding to commercialize its ActivInsights software suite, which includes an augmented reality-based overlay.

In July 2020, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, and surgical robots continued to receive funding at steady levels in comparison with the same period last year.

Activ Surgical said it has raised $15 million led by ARTIS Ventures to advance autonomous and collaborative surgery with its ActiveEdge software platform.

ActivEdge, Activ Surgical’s new AI-based platform, is intended to provide critical real-time intelligence and visualization to avoid preventable medical errors, the third-leading cause of death in the U.S.

The big winners in October 2019 robotics transactions were in transportation and healthcare, but agriculture, AI, and logistics were also well-represented.
